Game Over

A game normally ends when all players have died or all monsters and treasure have been successfully taken out of play.  Sometimes you may have a game where all players die rather quickly.  Don't get discouraged by this.  Start a new game and let your rolls take you farther the next time around.

Experience Points

Players get experience (Exp for short) points for doing anything in a game of The Black Keep.  When the game ends, each player calculates their Exp Points and then all players compare points.  The below table breaks down the number of points you receive for your activities:

  • 1 Exp Point for every special item
  • 2 Exp Points for every trap they faced and lived through
  • A variable number of Exp Points if the achieve their objective (see below)
  • 10 points for each player character alive at the end of the game (when all monsters and opponents are dead)
  • 10 points for being the only player alive at the end of the game (when all monsters and opponents are dead)

Objective Cards

As noted in game setup, the last step is selecting an Objective Card.  Objective cards will note their Exp Points value.  When calculating who won a game, this value should be added to the total Exp Points as noted above.
